In preparing a submission to Constructive Approximation, any of the four different numbering systems below is acceptable, as long as the same system is used consistently and correctly (with no miss-numbered statements) throughout the paper. Mixing a variety of numbering systems within a paper is not acceptable.

Numbering is optional for Claims, Definitions, Examples, Notes and Remarks. The choice of whether to number any of these types of statements is independent of the choice for the other three. For example, an author may choose to number Examples but not Remarks. However, if any of these types of statements is numbered, then all of that same type must be numbered. Furthermore, if these types of statements are numbered, they must be included in the overall numbering scheme and numbered along with all the other statements (i.e., not given a separate numbering sequence).
