David F. Penson, MD, MPH, is the Paul V. Hamilton, M.D. and Virginia E. Howd Chair in Urologic Oncology and Professor of Urologic Surgery and Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Penson is the director of the Center for Surgical Quality and Outcomes Research in the Vanderbilt Institute for Medicine and Public Health and maintains a keen interest in health policy and improving the quality of care in the U.S. Dr. Penson’s primary research interest is in population-based cohorts and assessing patient-reported outcomes in conditions treated with surgical procedures, specifically prostate cancer.
Dr. Penson maintains a clinical practice in the Department of Urologic Surgery at The Vanderbilt Clinic (TVC) and maintains a faculty appointment in the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center (VICC).
