Saqib is a Research Assistant at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems at Vanderbilt University in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His advisor is Dr. Gabor Karsai. His research is focused towards improving resilience in large scale cyber-physical systems.

He is interested in developing scalable modeling and simulation frameworks that can include features that are typically available in individual simulation tools. His research includes the development of approaches that include resilient system design, improve system analysis time, perform failure diagnostics, develop optimization techniques for system analysis, designing effective resource utilization techniques with a focus on the smart electric grid as a use case for cyber-physical systems.

Saqib is pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and received his B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India in June 2010. After completing his Bachelors he worked as a Research Engineer in Emerson Network Power (one of the fortune 500 companies) for 4 years. He has also received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Technology and Management, Mumbai, India in 2014 while working at Emerson towards his professional development.
