Hyperreal in my life: Video Games

Immersive video gaming is starting to become a part of the lives of video gamers to date but has not become so big that it has consumed us. There is a company called Oculus VR which produces goggles that immerse you within the game you are playing. They have also tested this in the medical field, as well as the mechanical and civil engineering fields. They have even used it for virtual tours of cities all over the world. For example, you can put on these goggles and step onto a platform that has been created by another company and you can take a tour of Italy from your living room. You are seeing Italy as it is today, but you are not there. You can even experience the sounds and at some point it feels like you are walking on the cobblestones that line the streets of some cities in Italy but you are still not actually there. This may seem like reality to you but it is almost closer to fantasy than reality.

This is a video of a person walking around an apartment in Paris using this technology.
