The ELIZA software simulates responses from a psychoanalyst in the form of “circular conversation,” in that ELIZA manipulates the words of the human subject, so that the human is able to look at themselves introspectively while offering nothing really meaningful to the conversation. ELIZA was developed in the 60’s and was tested by real individuals with their psychological issues.
