Directions and Airport Transportation

Driving

To get to Vanderbilt from the airport or out of town see the driving directions.

Airport Transportation

Gray Line Airport Express
(615) 275 1180
$14 one way and $20 round trip (if you call and mention that you are attending a conference at Vanderbilt– the normal rate is $25).
This goes to a number of downtown and West End (Vanderbilt area) hotels and runs roughly every 30 minutes. You can reserve in advance or just go to the Gray Line desk at the airport. For returning to the airport reservations are a good idea, and are required for some hotels and at some times. See the website for details and schedules.

In Shuttle
(615) 255 3519 or (615) 255 4032
$14 one way and $20 round trip (there is a $2 airport fee added to the prices on the website).
This goes to many hotels and Vanderbilt campus locations, and to the Scarritt Bennett Center. Reservations are required (there is no airport desk). The services are roughly 4 a.m. to midnight (but they will wait longer than that if your flight is delayed coming in).

Taxi
Taxi fare to the Vanderbilt area is approximately $25-$28 one way. There is a taxi area at the airport. However, it is not easy to hail a taxi on the street in Nashville so make a reservation to return to the airport.
Nashville Taxis:
Checker Cab 615 256 7000
Music City Taxi 615 262 0451
Yellow Cab 615 256 0101

City buses of the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA)
(615) 862 5950
$1.70 per bus route.
City bus (MTA) Route 18 (Elm Hill Pike/Airport) goes from the airport to Music City Central downtown, and runs roughly once per hour. To get to the Vanderbilt area you then take Route 3 (West End, for most hotels) or Route 7 (Hillsboro). Schedules are available at the Airport Welcome Center on the baggage claim level, and on the MTA website. All MTA buses are handicapped accessible.
See the details for Route 18, Route 3, and Route 7.
