About

This curated media archive has been constructed from numerous student projects addressing the problem of racism in the South. Included media varies from podcasts, interactive maps, videos, etc. “Confronting Legacies of Racism in a Changing South” is intended to be a platform for students and scholars to engage with insightful works.

Projects were created in the courses “Making Racism Visible,” otherwise known as #racism: Media and Civil Rights from MLK to BLM and Beyond
and “Public Scholarship Practicum.” The courses took place at Vanderbilt University in 2017 and 2018.
