What department do you work in and what is your title?

The Office of Contract and Grant Accounting (OCGA)

Accounting Manager

How long have you worked at Vanderbilt?

20 Years.  Accounting is my career, but service is my vocation.

Do you have or plan to get any certifications or credentials to better your career path?

I am currently pursuing my PhD in Learning and Leadership at The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.  I hope to enter Pre-Dissertation this Fall.

What do you like most about Vanderbilt (i.e. missions, benefits, views of sustainability, community, etc.)?

I love that Vanderbilt is a center of learning through traditional and non-traditional formats.

How long have you been on USAC and what do you enjoy most about the committee?

1st year after many years of declining my co-workers asking to nominate me.  🙂

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

An Engineer.  Math was and still is my favorite subject.

If you could have any accent, what would it be and why?

British because I loved all of the James Bond movies.  I loved to hear him introduced himself.

(“My name is Bond, James Bond”)  It sounded very intriguing.

What job would you be terrible at?

Cooking

What is something you are extremely proud of?

I am extremely proud of my 14 year old son.  He reminds me daily of all the possibilities the future holds.

What is your favorite TV show, movie, podcast, etc.?

My favorite TV channel is HGTV!   It’s my way of escaping the world.
