The mission of biodesign in biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt, is to execute at the praxis of ideation, innovation and implementation. The innovation ecosystem is intended to provide senior biomedical engineering students the opportunity to apply engineering, life science, and design principles to solve medical systems problems and develop working medical devices and processes. Biodesign at Vanderbilt encourages a blurring of the lines between engineering and non-engineering disciplines to advance creativity with a right-brain left-brain oscillation of convergent and divergent thinking.
