Oracle Java SE Critical Patch Update

Posted by on Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Blog.

Oracle released a Java SE Critical Patch Update (i.e. Java 7 Update 15) earlier this week. The update addresses zero-day vulnerabilities (i.e. previously unknown vulnerabilities) in Java browser plug-ins. The updating feature in Java 6 will ask users to download and install Java 7 Update 15. Alternatively, you can download the update from Java.com.

Oracle strongly recommends applying the update as soon as possible.

Oracle also announced an accelerated Java patch release schedule. The next four scheduled dates for Oracle Java SE Critical Patch Updates are:

• 16 April 2013
• 18 June 2013
• 15 October 2013
• 14 January 2014
