I was a research assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University. In some position or other, I have worked at Vanderbilt for nearly 31 years. I have various research and computer interests: gravitational radiation, exoplanets, lasers, charged particle beams, particle physics, nonlinear dynamics, and point-of-care PCR machines. I have spent a lot of my career working on control systems for large and small hardware projects. I also like most things computer like Linux (been using since version 99 patch level 7, circa 1993), Python, Mathematica, LabVIEW, C/C++, and more. No chance yet to play with virtual reality or augmented reality gear, but will one day.
