Welcome to the Woynaroski Lab!
Multisensory Processing
The Woynaroski Lab focuses on studying multisensory processing. Research of multisensory processing revolves around the how information from the different sensory modalities (such as taste, touch sight, sound, and smell) are integrated by the nervous system. The integration of the information from multiple sensory modalities influences how people perceive and react to various interactions and stimulations.
We are interested in understanding how multisensory processes impact our behaviors and perceptions. To answer the fundamental questions of how multisensory processing does so, we approach them through the use of multidisciplinary methods, including human psychophysics, neuroimaging (ERP and fMRI), and language and speech comprehension evaluations.
Our current research focuses on the topic of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to understand how the lack of integration from visual and audio stimuli affects how children and infants develop their verbal and nonverbal communications.
