It’s been more than 200 years since Charles Dickens was born.  Though Dickens himself is long-dead, his works still survive in multiple adaptations and revisions in today’s media environment.  In this blog, we explore connections between the social issues, cultural concerns, and artistic media of Charles Dickens’s time and those of our own media-rich cultural ecosystem.

In exploring these connections, we ask which of the three statements below works to encapsulate the relation between our present and its history:
