Below is a list of our current membership.

Stacey Houston, II is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology. His research bridges the areas of education, incarceration, and mental health. Stacey served as a research assistant to the Chancellor’s Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, and Community, synthesizing research on best practices across the country. Stacey is also part of the Explorations into Diversifying Engineering Faculty Initiative (EDEFI). Outside of the academy, Stacey has worked as a Data Analyst for the Department of Education and is co-founder of Madison Multicultural Education Solutions, LLC., an educational development and consulting company. Stacey currently holds a fellowship with The Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy. He serves as co-chair of the GDI committee
Alison Lutz
Keisha Hardeman (she/her/hers) is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Cancer Biology. For the past three years Keisha has been involved with the Graduate Student Council–volunteering at social events, and academic events like the Three Minute Thesis competition. Additionally, she has served in many leadership capacities with the Graduate Honor Council, including as President for the 2015-2016 academic year. Keisha is a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Scholar and Certificate in Teaching graduate from Vanderbilt’s Center For Teaching; a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society; and a Ruth Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Fellow. Keisha is a clinical scientist and maintains board certifications with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and Licensure in the state of Tennessee. She is also a former classroom teacher, having taught chemistry and physics in grades 9-12.
Erica Shannon is a graduate student in Cell and Developmental Biology.  For the past three years Erica has helped organize the Graduate Student Council’s Three Minute Thesis competition at Vanderbilt.  This year, Erica serves as Student Life Liaison for the Graduate Student Council.  In this position Erica advocates on behalf of graduate students regarding policy and other student concerns.  She also serves as President for her department’s graduate student association.
