Shared Palermo/Monreale Post
Signora wanted me to share this response with you all, a personal reflection from me about visiting the church at Monreale. Enjoy! I remember my Sundays when I was a young girl of 5 or 6. I was always excited; I would go to early CCD class, and then mass with my family, followed by…

My Interview with Alessandra
I interviewed Alessandra, who works at Culturforum as the secretary. She was born and raised in Cefalu to an Sicilian father and English mother. She has lived in Sardinia, Florence, Tusany, Palermo, and Trapani, before finally returning to Cefalu this past April. A common theme throughout our conversation was the tourism industry in Cefalu and…

He and his wife started Pizzica four years ago and it consistently sells some of…

Bar Duomo Observations
Andrew R Pokorny At the heart of Cefalu sits the Norman Cathedral and surrounding piazza filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. For an hour on a Monday at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, I sat down at one of cafes in the Duomo and began to watch the people around me. One reason I…
