NCPI Director and Affiliates to Present at 32nd Annual APPAM Conference, November 4-6, 2010

Papers by several center affiliates, including Dale Ballou, Corey Koedel, J.R. Lockwood, Daniel McCaffrey and Matthew Springer, will be presented during a panel at APPAM’s 32nd annual conference on November 4-6, 2010 in Boston. The panel’s focus is research on teacher incentive pay and will highlight four recent randomized experiments in the field, including two studies by NCPI.

The panel will include findings from NCPI’s POINT experiment in Nashville and experimental evidence from the center’s Project on Incentives in Teaching in Round Rock (TX) which looks at team-level teacher performance pay. The panel will also feature work by Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. including the study of the Teacher Advancement Program in Chicago Public Schools and the national Talent Transfer Initiative.

In addition to this panel, NCPI graduate assistant Ryan Balch will present his research on Austin Independent School District’s REACH program during a poster session on Saturday.
