There are three main systems in our project; Scanning, sorting and dispensing system.

I) SCANNING SYSTEM

RGB scanner scans blood bag and identify its type based on color-coded sticker.We use red label for red blood cells, green label for platelet and blue label for fresh frozen plasma (FFP).

II) SORTING SYSTEM

The identified blood products will then be rotated to its designated compartment. Once it is placed on top of the right compartment, the trap door will rotate and release the blood product into the spacing in between coils.

III) DISPENSING SYSTEM

When blood product is needed, user may push buttons located on the side of the system. We have three buttons, each button for each blood product. Then, the requested blood product will be dispensed by the rotating coils. User can collect it at the inserting slot.

COMPONENTS INTERACTION

This diagram shows how the components of the system interact with each other. The main component is Arduino Uno, which is the microcontroller of our system.
