Tao Hong receives Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
Tao Hong was recently awarded Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship. The award focused on supporting students to complete graduate degrees at top institutions. Tao is eligible to receive up to $150,000 total during the study in PhD program of Interdisciplinary Materials Science at Vanderbilt University. He was first awarded Jack Kent Cooke college transfer scholarship and transferred to Material Science and Engineering program at Cornell University from Queensborough Community College, NY. Inspired by the previous experience of working on microfluidics during the National Science Foundation (NSF) VINSE REU program in 2017 , Tao is currently working on integrating metasurface and microfluidics to construct a multifunctional and inexpensive platform for bioimaging in both Prof. Jason Valentine’s and Prof. Deyu Li’s lab.
