Former VINSE Director Sandra Rosenthal quoted in Medical News Today

Rosenthal, a professor of chemistry, pharmacology, and chemical and biomolecular engineering, discusses symptoms, causes, and management strategies for SAD throughout the article. She is joined by Associate Professor of Psychiatry Dr. Paul Desan, Ph.D. of the Winter Depression Research Clinic at Yale Medicine, New Haven, CT and psychotherapist Dr. Mayra Mendez, Ph.D. at the California Graduate Institute in Los Angeles, CA.

“The country has seen a spike in anxiety and depression from COVID,” Dr. Rosenthal said. “When you throw in an underlying condition of SAD, the two effects amplify each other.”
