VINSE Analytical Lab to receive new Zetasizer tool in 2022
Zetasizer Advance Series Ultra (Red Label)
The capabilities of the Analytical laboratory are upgraded by acquiring a flagman tool from Malvern Panalytical – Zetasizer Advance Series Ultra (Red Label). This new tool is the very best of the Zetasizer series and permits much more accurate and rapid measurement of particle and molecular size, particle charge and particle concentration. This new tool is expected to be fully operational by the middle of 2022.
Zetasizer Advance series Ultra Red Label has the following additional advantages:
- Faster size measurements with new adaptive correlation, and better size data. Improved reliability of dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements by reducing the signal noise and improving measurement tolerance to small amounts of “dust” that may otherwise dominate and skew the measurement, while also minimizing measurement time. It’s possible to get data from samples that were too noisy before.
- AI guided, neural network help with size data quality advice.
- Unique particle concentration feature. The red Ultra can quickly measure the concentration of particles using Multi-Angle Dynamic Light Scattering (MADLS).
- Fluorescence filter wheel allows for extended applications with fluorescent samples. Fluorescent samples cause a large background noise in the data, the fluorescence filter eliminates that noise and make a measurement possible despite the presence of fluorescence.
- Polarization filter, both vertical and horizontal polarization components can be detected, potentially gaining insights into particle rotational diffusion. It allows more accurate measurements using low-cost disposable sizing cuvettes.
- Novel 3uL low volume size cell. This lowest sample volume greatly increases the number of samples that can be analyzed by the machine and permits analysis of extremely small sample volumes.
- Improved zeta sensitivity over the Nano range zeta potential: much lower sample concentration is needed for a zeta measurement, saving precious material.
- Novel constant current zeta mode, to allow for high ionic strength measurements. It’s possible to get zeta measurements in high ionic strength that were previously not achievable.
