New Vanderbilt SSID

Posted by on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in News.

VUIT will deploy a new Service Set Identifier (SSID) to the Vanderbilt University wireless network Tuesday, November 5. The change will occur at 6:00 AM. This will cause a five-minute outage to the University wireless network.

VUIT is migrating to a new set of SSIDs in order to standardize the wireless networks. This will improve wireless operability as devices move across campus. vuNET is the new secure SSID that will be available for Vanderbilt authenticated wireless users. vuNet will become the preferred wireless SSID. Users are encouraged to move their devices to the vuNet.
