VU email addresses used for AOL accounts

Posted by on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in News.

Vanderbilt’s Unified Communications platform will federate with the AOL consumer environment. This means that members of the VU community who used the “@vanderbilt.edu” domain as their email address for AOL consumer services will need to change the email address associated with their AOL account by June 30, 2013.

Users will not lose access to any of their AOL services; they simply need to change the email address associated with their AOL log in name so it does not include the “@vanderbilt.edu” domain name.

A series of targeted emails will be sent to the identified AOL users beginning on Thursday, March 28, 2013. The communication will also introduce AOL users to Lync as an instant messaging solution for communicating with co-workers. Lync standard accounts are provisioned for all current Vanderbilt faculty, staff and graduate and professional students. To use Lync for instant messaging, presence and basic conferencing simply install the client and login using VUNet ID and ePassword.

Lync clients are available for download at the Software Store.
