On Thursday, June 12, 2013, Vanderbilt Information Technology VUIT  will convert the Microsoft Live@edu service to Office 365.

How does this affect you?

VU Live Email: The email offering with VU Live will be discontinued on June 12, 2013. You may continue to use your Vanderbilt email by converting to VU Gmail. Directions on how to convert to VU Gmail are on the VUIT website: VU Live FAQ. For directions on how to migrate your existing email and contacts please go here: VU Live FAQ. If you have not converted your account by June 12, 2013, your account will be automatically converted to VU Gmail.

How do I migrate to VU Gmail? To change your email delivery to VU Gmail do the following:

1. Login to the Identity Management tools: https://jprod.its.vanderbilt.edu/apps3/idm/user/login.jsp
2. From the options choose, “Set Delivery Destination“
3. From the, “Mailbox” drop down list select, “VU Gmail“
4. Click on, “Continue“
5. Click on, “Save“

How do I migrate my existing email and contacts from VU Live to VU Gmail? To migrate your email and contacts use the following directions:

• Import Email: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/21289?rd=1
• Import Contacts: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/14024?hl=en

Live SkyDrive: If you are a Live SkyDrive user, your existing Vanderbilt Live account will convert to a personal account administered by Microsoft. This personal account will give you access to all of your existing SkyDrive content and other Microsoft services.
