Association of Centers for the Study of Congress
Graduate Student Travel Grant
This grant supports graduate-level research conducted at member repositories of the ACSC. Each application will be evaluated on its merits. Primary consideration will be given to projects involving the substantive study of issues related to the study of Congress. Each proposal should be aimed at a discrete end product such as a book, dissertation, thesis, article, documentary, film, exhibit, website, or social networking site.

Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library
Research Travel Grants Program
The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation awards grants in support of research in the holdings of the Gerald R. Ford Library. Library collections focus on federal policies, U.S. foreign relations, and national politics in the 1960s and 1970s. There are earlier and later materials depending upon the researcher’s topic.

University of San Francisco: Center for the Pacific Rim
Travel Grants
Eligibility: Preference will be given to applicants who will be in residence at the Institute for a minimum of one week (five working days).
The Institute annually awards travel grants to encourage individuals to use its library and archival collections for their research. Research topics may include, but are not limited to Chinese-Western cultural exchange, interaction and/or encounters, Jesuit interaction with China from the late Ming through early 20th century, and/or the history of Christianity in China. Travel grant recipients are invited to participate in Ricci Institute and Center for the Pacific Rim events during the time of their residency.

University of Southern Indiana: Center for Communal Studies
Research Travel Grant
Eligibility: Applicants may be graduate students or established scholars in the United States or abroad from any discipline that involves the study of communalism (such as history, English, anthropology, sociology).
The Center for Communal Studies at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a travel grant to fund research at the Communal Studies Collection at USI’s David L. Rice Library. The Communal Studies Collection’s rich archival materials contain information on over 600 historic and contemporary communal societies, utopias, and intentional communities. Strengths include the Harmonists and Owenites who settled nearby New Harmony, Indiana, but the breadth of the collections cover American communalism more broadly.

University of Texas, Austin: Briscoe Center for American History
Travel Awards
Through the Smith Travel Award, the Briscoe Center for American History will assist master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral researchers with costs associated with travel to Austin, Texas. The award is intended for scholars who need to conduct in-depth research in the holdings of the Briscoe Center and who reside outside of the Austin metropolitan area. As a leading history research center, the Center collects, preserves, and makes available documentary and material culture evidence encompassing key themes in Texas and U.S. history. Research collection strengths include: American South; Civil Rights and Social Justice; Congressional and Political; Energy and Natural Resources; Archives of American Mathematics; Military History; Music; News Media History; Photography; Texas History; Professional Touring Entertainment; University of Texas; and Western Americana.

The Department of Special Collections at Washington University Libraries in St. Louis, Missouri awards travel reimbursement grants to faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and independent scholars who would like to use the department’s collections for research. The Department of Special Collections is a multi-faceted research institution that contains materials related to a wide variety of academic disciplines.
