Maximilian Obst joined the Caldwell lab in Spring 2025 as a postdoctoral scholar. After achieving his bachelor’s and master’s degree in physics at the TUD Dresden University of Technology he joined the group of Prof. Eng for his PhD, studying THz phonon polaritons in 2D van der Waals materials using a FEL as illumination source for s-SNOM measurements. His current research is centered on heat transfer via polaritons, gauged via both s-SNOM and thermal conductance measurements.
