Richarda Niemann joined the Caldwell Lab as a postdoc in the fall of 2024. After studying Physics at the University of Duesseldorf in Germany, I moved to the Fritz Haber Institute Berlin for my PhD. There, I studied surface phonon polaritons with sum-frequency generation microscopy. My current research focuses on single photons, with projects aiming for the deterministic creation of single photon emitters as well as the realization of mid-infrared single photon detectors operating at room temperature.
