Module 2, Principle 1: Set Assignment Goals

Effective principals identify the highest priority areas of need based on the school improvement plan, including subject areas, grade levels, student subgroups, or other areas where instruction could be strengthened. From these identified areas of need, effective principals then create specific teacher assignment goals to ensure that the most effective teachers are assigned to the high priority subjects, grade levels, and/or student populations. Effective principals consider multiple data points from teacher evaluations to best match effective teachers with the students who need them the most.
