VUIT Scheduled Maintenance: Microsoft Exchange and Skype for Business (Lync) Environments
Vanderbilt IT will install Microsoft security patches on Microsoft Exchange and Skype for Business (Lync) servers starting Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. and ending Saturday, Feb. 20 at 6 a.m. This will include monthly Windows server security update deployments, as well as any prior month patches that are still required. All non-redundant services will be impacted by a reboot of the server after installation of the patches.
Exchange 2010 users will experience an outage when the back-end servers reboot. Lync 2010/2013 users may experience an outage while the front-end servers reboot; however, they can sign out and sign back in to their clients to regain connection.
