Ana Maria Tavares & Martin Grossmann: Nashville Visit

In March, Ana Maria Tavares and Martin Grossmann visited Nashville to participate in various happenings.  From March 7-9th, Martin Grossmann participated in the 3 Million Stories Conference, sponsored by the Curb Center.  Martin and Ana also had the opportunity to attend the 2013 Conference of the Society for the Anthropology of Lowland South America (SALSA), led by Beth Conklin.

Following the conferences, Ana and Martin met with program coordinators at the Vanderbilt International Office (VIO), Jay Clayton at the Curb Center, as well as with other Conversations/Conversas members to discuss future initiative programming.  While in Nashville, Ana and Martin also presented to the Curb Center Scholars and Ana engaged in senior art student critiques.  She also took the opportunity to meet with Mark Scala, Chief Curator at the FRIST, to plan for her upcoming exhibit, Deviating Utopias.
