Latin American Images Photography Exhibit Competition 2013
Location: 230 Buttrick Hall

The Latin American Images Photography Competition will feature original photos taken in Latin America by Vanderbilt, students and staff and visiting scholars from various departments.  Photographs will be on display throughout International Education Week (November 11-20) in the Buttrick Hall Atrium.  A reception will be held to announce contest prize winners on Thursday, November 14 at 4:30pm in the Buttrick Atrium. The Center for Latin American Studies will award cash prizes to the first, second and third place entries.

Show Me The Money: Summer Funding and Budgeting Abroad

Think you can’t afford to study abroad? Think again! Enjoy lunch while you learn about budgeting techniques and money saving tips. You will also learn about both Vanderbilt-specific, and other scholarship opportunities available for study abroad. These scholarships are especially important for students interested in studying abroad in the summer! Students who have recently returned from studying abroad and staff from the Global Education Office will be present to help answer your questions.

Career Pathways in International Education Development
Location: Wyatt 322 (Peabody)

IEPM graduate James Nardella will discuss questions pertinent to any graduate looking for a vocation in the international development field: What are the entry points? Where do you hope to add value on the continuum between those who fund international development and those on the receiving end? James is the Executive Director of the Lwala Community Alliance, a health and development agency with projects that benefit 6,000 Kenyan students. In his role, James leads program strategy, partnership development, and organizational growth.
