World on Wednesday: Nisolo: A Story of Change
Presented by: Patrick Woodyard, Zoe Cleary, and Nick Meyer
Location: Student Life Center LLMR 1 & 2

After a chance meeting with a talented yet impoverished shoemaker whose skills and product outmatched his access to opportunity for business growth, Nisolo founder Patrick Woodyard saw an opening for change in the footwear industry. Two years later, Nisolo has partnered with over 30 shoemakers from Trujillo, Peru selling 5,500 pairs of shoes in over 10 different countries. Hear the stories of the Nisolo shoemakers and their families, learn the challenges of operating an international, socially responsible footwear brand, and see how consumerism can be for good.
