WOW: How a U.S. Carbon Fee and Dividend Can Help Solve Global Warming
Posted by radhika.reddy@Vanderbilt.Edu on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Activities Everyone.
Global warming is a growing concern in the U.S. and internationally. Although reducing greenhouse gas emissions is a challenge, there is a solution that even conservatives support: a carbon-fee-and-dividend that taxes fossil fuels while returning 100% of the revenue to households. This presentation will explain how a carbon-fee-and-dividend would stimulate the economy while reducing emissions, why conservatives including George Schultz and Hank Paulson support it, and how it would incentivize China and India to reduce their emissions as well. Presented by Pam Jones of Citizen’s Climate Lobby. Lunch is provided.
