Posted by radhika.reddy@Vanderbilt.Edu on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Activities Everyone.
Location: Student Life Center Lower Level Meeting Rooms 1 & 2
The Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health has three NIH grants to work with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the local CDC offices in Beijing and Chaoyang (eastern side of the city) to increase HIV testing, linkage to care, and adherence to antiretroviral therapy among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Beijing. We are also initiating a new study to see if male circumcision is effective at reducing HIV risk among MSM in Beijing and other global sites. Drs. Vermund and Qian will discuss the HIV epidemic in China, challenges for MSM, and the nature of their research objectives and activities. Lunch is provided.
