Global Service Fair: “Faces of Global Service”
Location: Rand 305, OACS

The Office of Active Citizenship & Service is teaming up with the Humphrey Fellowship Program to explore the many faces of service around the world. Humphrey Fellows and OACS staff will discuss over 16 countries; explore how volunteerism is perceived, and what opportunities there are to serve expressed needs in each country.  Stop by anytime between 11am – 1pm to learn more about OACS Global Summer Service Projects and to hear different perspectives on service and global citizenship. Refreshments will be available.

 

4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Badminton Doubles Tournament
Location: Student Recreation Center

All teams must have one American and one International student.  Prizes will be given to 1st and 2nd place teams.  Please send an e-mail to isss@vanderbilt.edu that includes team name, full names and e-mail address of both team members by November 8.  Check-in starts at 4 p.m. and tournament runs from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Communication Nuances in Global Relations
Location: Sarratt/Rand 308

Preparing for a career within a global framework can require an understanding of cultural aspects of your educational and work environment. Expert panelists from the fields of Psychiatry, Behavioral Science, and Education will present their perspectives on the impact of socio-cultural nuances in effective communication in global settings.  Hosted by Psychological and Counseling Center.

Students Without Borders: An Evening of Professional Development, Campus Resources, and Career Connections
Location: Student Life Center Board of Trust Room

Join us for an interactive networking dinner workshop featuring presentations and panels of Vanderbilt staff, local employers, and recent alumni completing OPT in Nashville. International students will have the opportunity to meet and connect with campus staff, fellow Vanderbilt students, and appropriate campus resources as they build a “network” on Vanderbilt campus and prepare for employment in the United States.

There is no cost to attend this event; however, space is limited. Please RSVP through DoreWays. You will be asked to pick up an entry ticket at ISSS for this event.
