Teaching English Abroad Panel

Teaching abroad is a rewarding and exciting post-graduation option. It can be an
opportunity to travel, learn a new language, and gain international work experience. There will be representatives from Fulbright ETA, the JET program, the Peace Corps and other programs.

Japanese Exchange and Teaching Information Session
Location: Sarratt 189

The Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET) is a Japanese government initiative to promote international education in Japan by improving foreign language education and cultural exchange at the local level. The JET Programme recruits college graduates to serve in local government offices as well as public and private elementary schools, junior high and senior high schools for a minimum contract of one year. JET is a highly respected program that with over 57,000 alumni from 54 different countries. The JET program is a grand opportunity to work abroad and enjoy life in a different culture while contributing to the project of improving international education.

Latin American Images Photography Reception
Location: Buttrick Hall Atrium

A reception will be held to announce the Latin American Images Photography Exhibit 2013 Competition prize winners The Center for Latin American Studies will award cash prizes to first, second and third places entries.

 

6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The World “Cup”
Location: Alumni Hall Lounge Room 100

Taste tea, coffee, and other exotic beverages from all over the world . . . without leaving campus!  Talk to student organizations and hear from campus offices about international engagement on campus and opportunities to go abroad.

Learn more about Brazil and Africa through stories of the athletic department’s trips abroad and  performances by Vanderbilt Capoeira club, VIDA, and ASU’s Nilaja Amari.
