Rachel Lloyd is the Founder & Executive Director of GEMS (Girls Educational and Mentoring Services), a nonprofit that serves victims of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking, and the author of Girls Like Us: Fighting for a World Where Girls Are Not for Sale (Harper). A nationally recognized expert and keynote speaker on the issue of commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking in the United States, she has spoken at the United Nations, New York University, Columbia University, the Brooklyn Museum, the Library of Congress, and at international and national conferences.
