Vanderbilt Alternative Spring Break is a student-run service organization that empowers students from all corners of Vanderbilt’s campus in an ongoing process of education, service, and reflection. Leading up to the week of service, each site meets to learn history, relevance, and important context regarding its theme. Participants are equipped with principles of social justice in order to engage with an issue falling into one of the six family groups. This experience has the potential to transform participants’ views of themselves, their Vanderbilt community, and the world.
