VUIT Scheduled Maintenance: Perimeter Firewall

Vanderbilt IT will upgrade perimeter firewalls and network and security equipment on Tuesday, August 13, between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Connections to and from the internet will be impacted as follows: from 12:00 to 12:10 AM, an Internet outage is expected while we migrate to new equipment. During the remainder of the change window, users should expect instances of degraded service of 30 seconds or less each, as failover verification is conducted. Interruptions to open sessions such as VPN connections, file downloads, video conferences, etc., are expected. Web browsing sessions should automatically reconnect. There should be no outage to on-campus network connectivity.
