NCPI affiliate researcher Michael Podgursky blogged recently for Education Next about teacher pensions. The blog, which followed up an article Podgursky wrote on the subject in the Spring 2009 issue of Education Next (with co-author Robert Costrell, University of Arkansas), focuses upon the growing cost of teacher pensions and the increasing cost disparity between teacher pensions and pensions in the private sector. That is, as teacher pension costs continue to rise, pensions costs in the private sector have remained relatively flat.
