NCPI director to speak at Mayor’s forum

NCPI director Matthew Springer participated in a forum on teacher compensation hosted by Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Nashville Director of Schools Jesse Register. The one day event included discussions of existing models of teacher compensation from programmatic and district-wide perspectives, successes and barriers to implementing effective compensation models, the role of value-added models, how to engage teachers in the development of and participation in compensation models, as well as a reflection of what is taking place around the country to ensure financial sustainability of compensation initiatives. The invitation-only event featured noted researchers, policymakers, and practioners from across the United States.
