ACCRE Website
In 2017, I started working at Vanderbilt Advanced Computing Center for Research and Education (ACCRE), the high performance computing center at Vanderbilt. ACCRE provides computing services to researchers in a wide variety of fields, from genetics and evolution to black holes. I was brought on board to develop a new version of their website which would be easier to navigate and more helpful to new users. I started out by conducting usability tests, sending out a survey to current users, and collecting analytical data on the previous website, which helped me to organize the website more efficiently,. To make the website more engaging, I have also included testimonials from ACCRE users, a virtual tour of the cluster facility, helpful pages for getting started, and a “cheat sheet” with the most common server commands. The new website is built to meet Vanderbilt’s web design standards.
The website is available at vanderbilt.edu/accre.
Looking ahead, my plan is to build an internal user account management system to give ACCRE staff members control in managing users of the server.
