Other Past Projects
Fisk University CubeSat Project
From 2015 to 2016, I consulted with the Fisk University Department of Physics on a nanosatellite (CubeSat) to observe gamma rays in space. I assisted the group in finding a miniature computer for the satellite and interfacing the computer with their existing observation instruments.
Vera Rubin Observatory Event Broker
In 2014, I consulted with members of the Vera C. Rubin Observatory (VRO), a massive telescope under construction in Chile formerly known as the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope and expected to begin operation in 2020. We had planned to develop an event broker that would collect events from the telescope and use tweets, phone calls and emails to inform people of important events based on their priority. While the event broker never made it beyond the planning stage, the plans for the system could be revisited once VRO gets closer to full operations.
Fisk University Raman Spectrometer Interface
In the summer of 2007 I created a software interface for a Raman spectrometer at Fisk University. My work on this was published in the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Journal.
