Check out our inverse design work on Tamm plasmon thermal emitters!

Posted by on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in News.

Our recent work on inversely designed Tamm plasma polariton thermal emitters was just published in Nature Materials, and it is also on the research news of the School of Engineering! With stochastic gradient descent, we are able to inversely design the Tamm plasma devices with numerous changeable parameters within several minutes on a consumer-grade desktop. Additionally, the use of doped semiconductor, cadmium oxide, increase the design capability to an unprecedented level. It is a collaboration with Prof. Jon-Paul Maria at Penn state, Prof. Folland at Iowa University, Prof. Landman at Vanderbilt University.

The algorithm used in the paper can be found on our website as well as Nature Materials.

Your SGD algorithm about design TPP-EMS inspired me lot. May I have a look at the MATLAB code about the SGD mehtodology approaches?
