STEP 1 – FIND JOBS
- Utilize LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake, SimplyHired, SchoolSpring or another large job search aggregator to fine tune your job search criteria and set up an automatic emailer.
- Develop a list of organizations in which you would like to work and visit these websites directly. You might also conduct informational interviews or warm up your existing network to learn about future openings.
STEP 2 – APPLY
- Update your resume with experiences you have had this year – internships/practica/volunteer. Ensure the most relevant experiences are easy to find on your resume (Ask yourself “Which 3-5 experiences do I want the interviewer to know about me?”).
- Write a concise cover letter. Answer what you love about the organization/position in the first paragraph. Outline what makes you the ideal candidate in the next 2 paragraphs.
STEP 3 – FOLLOW UP
- Connect with alumni at the organization to learn about their experiences and see if they have suggestions for how to land an interview.
