May. 25, 2016—The EMI 2016 and PMC 2016 conferences attracted over 700 participants from 25 countries around the world. The conferences brought the leaders of engineering mechanics and probabilistic mechanics field to Vanderbilt Campus and showcased Vanderbilt’s research strengths in these areas. May. 24, 2016—Xiang wins the ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute, Modeling Inelasticity and Multiscale Behavior Committee Best Student Paper award for his conference paper entitled: “Eigenstrain based reduced order homogenization for polycrystalline materials”. The finals of the competition was held during the EMI 2016 and PMC 2016 conferences held at Vanderbilt University between May 22-25, 2016.
