NCPI affiliate presents at second Value-Added Measures conference in 2008

NCPI affiliate Daniel McCaffrey (RAND) presented at a second conference in 2008 on the topic of value-added measurement. The conference, hosted by the Wisconsin Center for Education Research and the Urban Institute, took place in Washington D.C. following an earlier conference in Madison (WI) at which McCaffrey was also a presenter, along with several other center affiliates. At the Washington D.C. conference, entitled “Value-Added Measures: Implications for Policy and Practice”, McCaffrey spoke about the technical and methodological challenges of value-added modeling and discussed its promise and limitations for use in policy and practice.
