Teacher organizations are a wonderful way to stay connected with current research, opportunities for professional development and other teachers in the field.  These organizations usually host annual conferences where educators, researchers and policy makers can come together to support students with disabilities.

Special education teacher associations are specific to special education.  These teacher organizations provide resources and services for current, retired and new teachers to the field.  These organizations provide access to research that impacts the lives of students with disabilities.

The Council for Exceptional Children is a professional association of educators dedicated to advancing the success of children with exceptionalities. We accomplish our mission through advocacy, standards, and professional development.

Click on the image to visit the site for the National Association of Special Education TeachersThe National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) is a national membership organization dedicated to rendering all possible support and assistance to those preparing for or teaching in the field of special education.  NASET was founded to promote the profession of special education teachers and to provide a national forum for their ideas.

The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) promotes policies and advances evidence-based practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of young children (0-8) who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. DEC is an international membership organization for those who work with or on behalf of young children (0-8) with disabilities and other special needs and their families.
