Well then, where to begin… Hi, my name is Branson. I’m an Economics major, initially by accident but now by the full force of reason. Every time my academic schedule calls for a non-required class, the first place I look is the Astronomy department. Any tidbit of information I have ever picked up about astronomy or anything of the sort has been something of interest to me, so I like to take every opportunity I can to find more such tidbits.
That fairly tidily sums up why I’m writing this post in the first place, so now for some more details about me as a person. I’ve always been a fan of sports. I grew playing most of those common in the U.S. and still enjoy playing most when I get the chance. My favorite to play is probably basketball, favorite to watch probably baseball (go Braves!)
I like just about everything about the outdoors, except that I don’t spend enough time in it. However, I also enjoy playing video games; I like the immersion in alternate realities. This interest tends to compete with the former for precious resources (i.e. my time). I spend nearly every waking moment thinking about the way that I think about things. This leads to often re-evaluating my priorities and what I think is interesting, and I can often make pretty substantial swings in opinions over a relatively short time frame. However, those that I’ve listed so far have been around for quite some time, so I can only assume that they must be of a particular significance to me.
I’m sure that all you readers are practically clawing at your screens for more at this point, but I believe I’ve said enough for now. I’m sure more is not far behind.
Cheers,
Branson
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”
