NCPI researcher interviewed in Education News
Michael Podgursky, an affiliate researcher for NCPI and Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri-Columbia, was recently interviewed for Education News. Conducted by senior columnist Michael F. Shaughnessy, the interview centered around merit pay and findings from Podgursky and NCPI director Matthew Springer’s publication “Teacher Performance Pay: A Review” in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. The interview includes Podgursky’s opinions on assessing teacher quality, merit pay in charter schools, teaching to test, and the use of merit pay alongside policies promoting mainstreaming and inclusion.
