Multi Photon

Multi-photon microscopy’s main advantage over imaging techniques such as confocal imaging lies in its ability to penetrate deeper into tissue while efficiently collecting light. Due to the use of longer excitation wavelengths, phototoxicity is reduced compared to conventional forms of microscopy lending itself well to imaging of live specimens

 

The Vanderbilt Medical Center CISR facility houses one multi-photon microscope for use in medical research studies by VUMC faculty, staff, and students.
